Blubrry Gear Recommendations

https://powerpresspodcast.com/2019/01/30/podcasting-equipment-5-drool-worthy/ Figured this was worth sharing. Blubrry has this article looking at podcast equipment. A lot of these have already been talked about by Stephen and SP. But I think getting a look from an official Blubrry source is a good s...

Re: Examining The Doctor (As in Dr. Who)

Yes, riffing has become it's own art form it seems. I'm not trying to be modest, I think it's true that my cohost Mark is more the star of the show than I am. As I like to say, the show has a "signature blend of knowledge and humor", which makes it different than most TV show podcasts. Plus, Mark gr...

Examining The Doctor (As in Dr. Who)

One of my podcasts does commentary for episodes of Doctor Who. Here I have linked the very first episode of Doctor Who, along with the podcast episode. So it's kind of like MST3K meets DVD commentary. Just click on the podcast link first, then start the TV episode when prompted. http://www.geekville...

Re: Podcast Growth

Like SP said, your first priority should be to make a great show. Good content will keep people around more than bad content. I put this very bluntly, but I don't mean it in a negative way. You are not going to hit a home run off the bat. The odds of being an instant success in podcasting is infinit...

The Lesser Known Geek Hall Of Fame #1: The Shadow

This is the latest labor of love in my podcasting career. As the name implies, it's a talk about some of the lesser known characters, or characters that served as forerunners to the more popular comic, movie, or TV characters. The inaugural show is about The Shadow, who set the template for many com...

Re: RSS Redirects

I do have an .htaccess text file, I just don't think I've put it in the right place. But I did find my settings for the Page, and forgot that I had imported the a1-wrestling feed in the first place. So hence why the page would get redirected. All the site references hadn't been changed. Once I fixed...

Re: RSS Redirects

Hi Yakko, Thank you for the reply. The good news is when I go to iTunes and choose the podcast website, it does go to the geekville site. So I think that part is working. The problem is of course that it redirects to the old a1-wrestling.com site. I do have FTP access, but I don't see any actual rss...

RSS Redirects

Hey all, After many months of procrastinating, I've decided to update my RSS feed for Geekville Radio. Here is the old feed that still shows up in podcast engines http://www.a1-wrestling.com/podcast/geekville/geekville.xml I am trying to redirect it here http://geekvilleradio.com/feed/main The probl...

Re: How Do You Record Your Podcast?

As I have said before, I'm living proof that you can sound good on a limited budget.

I use an AT2005 plugged directly into my laptop via USB, and record with Voicemeeter, which can multitrack record. I edit on Audacity. So a $70-100 mic, donationware recording, and freeware editing.
